Kamane jewelry is made from glass and finished with silver details.
Both materials have their own character. Glass is strong, delicate and full of light. Silver is timeless, natural and changes gently with wear. With a little care, your jewelry can stay beautiful for years.
Caring for glass jewelry
Glass jewelry is made to be worn, but it should be handled with care.
Although glass is durable for everyday use, it can break if dropped or hit against a hard surface. We recommend removing your jewelry before sleeping, showering, swimming, exercising or cleaning.
It is also best to avoid pulling, bending or applying strong pressure to delicate details and metal connections.
When not wearing your jewelry, store it separately from other pieces. A soft pouch, small jewelry box or original packaging will help protect it from scratches, pressure and accidental impact.
When travelling, do not place glass jewelry loose in a bag or pocket. Keep it in a small box or pouch where it will not be pressed or hit by other objects.
Caring for silver
Silver naturally darkens over time. This is called tarnishing and is a normal reaction to air, moisture, skin oils, perfume, creams and other chemicals.
To help silver details stay brighter for longer, avoid direct contact with perfume, hairspray, lotions, cleaning products, chlorine, salt water and sweat.
A simple habit helps a lot: put your jewelry on last, after applying skincare, makeup or fragrance.
After wearing, gently wipe silver parts with a soft dry cloth or a silver polishing cloth. Store silver jewelry in a dry place and avoid keeping it in the bathroom or other humid spaces.
Cleaning your jewelry
To clean the glass part, gently wipe it with a soft, dry cloth.
If needed, you can use a slightly damp cloth on the glass only, then dry the piece carefully. Avoid soaking the jewelry in water.
For silver details, use a soft silver polishing cloth. Do not use rough materials, abrasive cleaners, silver dips or strong chemicals, as they may damage the glass, silver or the connection between materials.
A note on handmade glass
No two Kamane pieces are exactly the same.
Small bubbles, soft irregularities, slight color shifts and small differences in shape are natural parts of working with glass by hand. These details are not imperfections to hide. They are traces of the making process.
They are what make each piece its own.
If something happens
Glass is beautiful, but accidents can happen.
If your piece breaks, silver parts become loose or you have a question about repair, please contact us. Depending on the piece and the type of damage, we may be able to help with repair or replacement options.
