Jewelry care
Kamane pieces are handcrafted from glass and finished with silver details. Glass is strong, delicate and full of character, while silver naturally changes over time with wear.
With a little care, your jewelry can stay beautiful for years.
Glass jewelry
Each glass piece is shaped by fire and made by hand. Because of this, small variations in color, shape, bubbles and texture are natural parts of the process.
They are not flaws — they are traces of the making process and make every piece slightly different.
How to care for glass
Handle your glass jewelry with care. Although glass is durable for everyday wear, it can break if dropped or hit against a hard surface.
We recommend removing your jewelry before:
sleeping
showering
swimming
exercising
cleaning
travelling without protective packaging
Avoid strong impact, bending, pulling or applying pressure to delicate details and metal connections.
Silver care
Silver is a beautiful natural material that may darken or tarnish over time. This is completely normal and can happen because of air, moisture, skin oils, perfume, creams or other chemicals.
To keep silver parts looking their best, avoid direct contact with:
perfume
hairspray
creams and lotions
cleaning products
chlorine
salt water
sweat
Put your jewelry on after applying skincare, makeup or fragrance.
After wearing, gently wipe the silver parts with a soft dry cloth or a silver polishing cloth.
Cleaning
To clean the glass part, gently wipe it with a soft, dry cloth.
If needed, you can use a slightly damp cloth on the glass only, then dry the piece carefully.
For silver details, use a soft silver polishing cloth. Avoid rough materials, abrasive cleaners, silver dips or strong chemicals, as they may damage the glass, silver or the connection between materials.
Do not soak your jewelry in water.
Storage
Store your jewelry separately when not in use.
A soft pouch, jewelry box or original packaging will help protect it from scratches, pressure and accidental impact.
For silver pieces, storing jewelry in a dry place can help slow down tarnishing. Avoid leaving it in the bathroom or other humid spaces.
Travelling with your jewelry
When travelling, keep your Kamane piece in a small box or pouch.
Avoid placing glass jewelry loose in a bag, pocket or suitcase, where it may be pressed, scratched or hit by other objects.
A note on handmade pieces
No two Kamane pieces are exactly the same.
Tiny bubbles, soft irregularities, color shifts and small variations are part of working with glass by hand. These details are what make each piece its own.
If something happens
Glass is beautiful, but accidents can happen.
